Virtual Book Tour: Yes! You Can, Day 7

Sanders Teleclass HPIM5455
Welcome back to my virtual book tour! It’s been so much fun to have you all join me last week and this week here on my blog to celebrate the release of my new book for writers, Yes! You Can Learn How to Write Children’s Books, Get Them Published, and Build a Successful Writing Career.

For today’s official stop on the tour, I’m inviting you to join me in a teleseminar I’m teaching today about developing the voice of your characters in both fiction and nonfiction. Click on the link for the Children’s Writers’ Coaching Club and follow the directions to register. (There is a small registration fee to participate in the class.)

You can join the teleclass live at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time and listen in on your phone! Or, you can download an audio file of the class and listen to it at your own convenience.

The picture I’ve posted here today is of when I taught Part I of the teleseminar a couple of weeks ago. It was all about how to find and strengthen your own voice as an author of either fiction or nonfiction. That audio is also available at the Coaching Club to download for your convenience.

Prizes
Each day during the official tour from today until October 16, if you post a comment here on my blog, I will put your name in a hat. You may post any comment you like, or you may post a comment to answer the Question of the Day.

Question of the Day:
What encouraging words would you like to share today with your fellow writers?

At the end of the tour, I’m going to have a drawing and pick 3 random names out of my hat. The names that I pick will each get a free prize!

I’m giving away 3 really cool prizes from the store my publisher created to encourage children’s writers like yourself by saying “Yes! You Can.” I’m giving away a
* free license plate
* free writing journal
* free tile coaster

Free Downloads
Each day of the tour, I’ve decided to give away a free pdf file, Excel chart, or sample document for you to have that will go along with my book! This will really help give you the tools you need to take your career to the next level as you’re reading through the chapters and applying the strategies in my book.

Click on the link and download this file:

7 Book chart

This is a pdf file of a free Excel chart to help you keep track of publishers you want to target in the Book market. It’s for use with pages 188-190 in my book.

See you tomorrow back here for Day #8 of my Virtual Book Tour! We’ll be stopping at a great blog with all sorts of resources for helping teach kids to write. Plus, you’ll get another chance to enter your name for a prize and can also take advantage of the free download I’m offering to help you build a successful writing career.

Responses

  1. Hello Ms. Sanders,

    What or who inspired you to write this book?

    Have a great day!
    Lucia

    I am a recent graduate of ICL (Institute of Children’s Literature). I am looking forward to be a successful children’s writer!!

    • Congratulations, Lucia! That’s a fantastic accomplishment and big step in the right direction! As far as who or what inspired me to write this book–check back in tomorrow as I answer that exact question in on interview on my next stop of the tour. Smile.

  2. Encouraging words–learn the most you can about this writing career, write your best, do your market research and sub the best you can, be persistent, but in the end know that there are things in life more important than being published. If you’re discouraged, go find someone who needs a hug and give them one. That’s what life is really about.

    Ev

    • Oh thanks, Ev! Now I’m encouraged–truly so. Hugs to you, dear friend!

  3. “When you’re learning seek help. When you’re published pass it on.” Writer’s Creed

    This quote encourages me because I know that whatever stage I’m in as a writer, there is always someone behind me that I can teach and encourage. It’s wonderful to have friends who are WAAAAAY ahead of me, willing to “pass it on” so that I can grow!

    “The beautiful part of writing is that you don’t have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, brain surgery.” ~ Robert Cormier

    This funny quote encourages me to not get too stressed out with the writing process! A little levity is good!

    • Thanks for both inspiring us and giving us a chuckle, Sherri!
