The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial

One of my heroes is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I’ve learned about this great man, researched his life, and written about him in two of my children’s books:
D is for Drinking Gourd: An African American Alphabet
A Kid’s Guide to African American History

For years, plans have been underway to construct a National Memorial in Washington, DC to honor this great leader. And after years of fundraising, they are just $14 million away from reaching their $120 million goal.

To learn more about this important project and the impact it can have on our nation and our world, please visit the site, A Memorial to a Hero Needs You.

Dr. King influenced an entire generation of freedom fighters during the American Civil Rights Movement. Let’s help carry the torch so that future generations can benefit from the work he has done.
