In Due Season

Aren’t these baby hummingbirds adorable?

They look like they’re waiting. And they are. They’re waiting for their wings to grow so they can take flight and see the world.

Writing is like that. We jump in and want to get a manuscript published and see our dreams come true.

But it takes time. It takes time to learn how to write realistic dialogue, show and not tell, and pace a plot effectively. It takes writing lots of manuscripts to learn how to put words down on paper in the market we’re targeting. It takes time to learn how to land a book contract and earn a solid income.

But if we are willing to stick with it and take the time and prioritize our time for writing, in due season, we’ll see results. Our wings will grow. We’ll see our manuscripts take flight. We’ll see our words get published and impact our world!

  1. Finding your website was like accidentally spying a golden needle in a haystack. The children’s picture book I wrote 2 years ago alternately moulders, then sprouts unexpected growth, but it’s time for me to dive in and send it off to a publisher. I will seek out your book. May God bless you as you bless others with your gift and discipline!

  2. Thanks so much for your encouraging words, Nancy! I pray you’ll be blessed and encouraged, too, along your journey.
