Today, the second stop on my Virtual Book Tour is at Mayra’s Secret Bookcase. On her site, she’s posting an interview that will let you know more about my life as a writer.
One of the things I have grown to cherish as a writer is the opportunity to travel to do research. On the most recent research trip I took back to Philadelphia, I also had the extra bonus of visiting the church of Richard Allen, one of the early leaders in America who is showcased in my book on the page pictured above, F is for Founding Fathers. Here are some photographs we took of the visit:

For my Virtual Book Tour this week, we’re celebrating my book, D is for Drinking Gourd: An African American Alphabet. Plus, the goal of this tour is to help get the word out about my book so that it can get into the hands and hearts of kids all across the nation.
To help spread the word, I want to invite you to join the contest I’m hosting here on my blog. I’m offering a prize that I hope you’ll love: a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble! You can use this at your local store, for an online purchase, or on your Nook!
Just post an invitation today to visit my blog and join my Virtual Book Tour in at least one online group you belong to. Then come right back here today to post a comment here on my blog to let me know you did this. You can post your own invitation or copy and paste the following:
Hop on over and join the Virtual Book Tour of author Nancy I. Sanders at her blog at http://www.nancyisanders.wordpress.com. Join in on her contest to see if you can win a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble!
When you post your comment here on my blog today, I’ll put your name in a hat. And if you post an invitation on more than one online group you belong to, just let me know how many places you posted and I’ll add your name that many times to the hat! (We’re going on an honor system here, so I trust you’re doing what you’re saying :o)
Throughout the upcoming week, you’ll have even more opportunities to help spread the word about my book and get your name in the hat again and again to help increase your chances of winning. And then next Monday, here on my blog, I’ll post the name of the winner of the $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble. It could be you!!!!!
